“Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51: 10, 12
Read: Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
It is hard to understand why God would want to save sinners like us, but He did out of His great love for us. He died so we could live. How is it that our response to that sacrificing love is so limited and weak. We seem to want to hold back a part of ourselves from the “One” who gave it all. He lives in us. He knows and loves us. God’s great sacrifice requires my total commitment.
Take time today to examine your heart and the part of you that you have kept back for yourself. God loves you and wants you to trust Him with every part of your life.
God I love you and I give you all of me. Help me to keep my focus on Jesus and not the world around me. You are all I need.
