Suit Up: Part 3
Thank you God for loving me. Teach me to love others the way you have loved me.
Read: 1 John 3:1,14 (NIV)
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
14 “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.”
Thru Christ, we are in God’s family. We are His sons and daughters. The evidence that we belong to God’s family is that we love one another. It is not in our human nature to love others. Our human nature is only about self. Love is what makes us different from the world around us. What a challenge as we deal with conflicts at work, home and in our community. Love does not mean that we are always in agreement but it does mean we care about the person and the plans God has for them aside from the conflict at hand. To show unconditional love, is simply reflecting the love God has for us. Thankfully it is not something we have to do on our own. It is God’s Spirit living in us that empowers us to reach out in love to a hurting world.
Meditate on Christ’s love for you. Allow Him to love others through you.
Forgive me Lord for the times I have only been concerned about myself. I want to love others the way that you have loved me.
