Show me Lord where I do not have a heart of gratefulness towards you.
Read: 1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV)
4” Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Saying thank you is one of the first things we train our children to say when receiving something from another person. We want our children to have a grateful heart and appreciate the good things that are done for them. As God’s children many times are hearts are thankless. Circumstances in life can rob us of seeing God’s goodness and mercy. There is an old hymn that expresses the kind of thankfulness that should be a part of our daily life. It is titled “Thank you Lord” and the following is the chorus.
Thank you Lord for saving my soul
Thank you Lord for making me whole
Thank you Lord for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free
Make a daily list of things for which to thank God. Praise Him for how He cares for you.
Pray back to God the chorus and add in all the specific things God has done for you this week.
