The Mission: Week 3 - Day 2

Opening Prayer:

Lord, we come to you today to strengthen and encourage one another, so let me be a blessing in your eyes.

Read: Luke 10:2

2 “He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

We have a mission in life.  It is simply this, go and tell others about Jesus Christ our Lord.  It is going to be a hard job, because we will be frightened at times, shy and not as bold as we need to be.  God sent 72 followers of Christ out so they could cheer and hug each other when they needed it.  They were to go in peace and not complain.  Wow, do you ever complain?  I sure do. When you think about what all we “have” compared to others in underdeveloped countries, you will be thankful.  We don’t live in a slum, we have clean water, washing machines, and lots of stores!  There are so many people in the world that live in horrible conditions with no clean drinking water and, most important of all, a working bathroom!  Have you ever been on a mission trip?  It will change your perspective and make you so appreciative of God’s provision in your Life! There are so many people that need to hear about Jesus in Wichita and the World!  Think about how you can make a difference by telling others about HIM.  Where will you go, what will you do? Can you try to talk about Jesus at your workplace or at the grocery store? Begin to tell others about the blessings you have received.

Today, begin to think about how you could go on a mission trip.  Would you stay here in Kansas, would you go to another state, a prison, another country?  Begin to dream what it would be like and talk to others that have gone on mission trips.

 Closing Prayer:

Oh Holy Father, please put the desire in my heart to “go ye therefore and teach all nations”.  Wherever you want me to go, I will go.  It may mean witnessing to my neighbors or it may mean going out of the country.  It is time for me to get out of my comfort zone.
