You Can Live Well - Day 4
Lord, please open my heart to receive the word you would have me hear today.
Read: 2 Timothy 2:1-2
“You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
Learning is a process. We begin our lives in a totally helpless state and learn that our parents care for us. Eventually we learn to walk and talk and think for ourselves. We learn to make decisions by doing right and wrong and being rewarded in kind. We see the actions of others and choose to imitate or reject based on whatever moral code has developed in our minds.
This same process of learning is also reflected in our faith journey. We see what others do, hear what they say, and choose how to believe. Someone who is God-honoring will be an example to us of how we should live our lives, and in return, as we live God-honoring lives, others will see our faith in action and will choose to emulate us.
Knowledge learned is a beautiful thing. But it’s beauty fades away if it is not shared with others, who in turn continue to share it and expand upon it.
Father, help me to live my life so that those who are watching me will see only you at work in me.
