You Can Touch the World - Day 3

Opening Prayer:

Father God, speak to me in a way that I’ve not heard your voice before. Use your words to change my heart. Fill me with your Holy Spirt as I read these verses and strengthen me to use them today and every day. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Read: Titus 3:7-8, John McArthur Study Bible

7 “so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.”

Reflect:

Many times, it’s difficult for us to do the things we should do according to God’s purpose because we don’t truly understand who we are in Christ Jesus. Verse 7, which is sometimes hard for me to get my mind wrapped around, tells us exactly who we are… Heirs (a person entitled to the property and/or rank of another) to the Kingdom of God. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he bore all our sins, each and every one of them… past, present, and future so that we would be just like him. His grace made and makes us blameless and pure in God’s sight. Because of this, our identity (our rank) is clear… we are children of God. (John 1:12, Romans 8:16). And, as Heirs, we will receive all the riches of Heaven and glory, just as Jesus. (Romans 8:17)

Because of God’s grace and love for us, we have been justified. We are his child and because of that, our position in eternity is secure. We should be singing on the rooftops of God’s goodness. Verse 8 tells us to do just that… speak confidently of these things and in doing so, you are doing a good deed, a very good deed. Your speaking of what God’s grace has done for you might just be what someone needs to hear for them to come to know Christ…. To know that they are a child of God and to know their place in Heaven for eternity.

Apply:

First, take a moment to rejoice in who God’s glorious grace made you…..his loved child, just like Jesus. Rejoice that you have a place in Heaven reserved for you right next to the Father. Now, be bold and share this whenever possible. Identify someone that may not know who they are in Christ and share the Truth that’s been so selflessly given to you.

Closing Prayer:

Holy Father, I thank you with all the gratitude I can muster for calling me your child, for giving me a place setting at your table! I pray, Lord, you bless me with opportunities to share my good fortune and give me the words to speak boldly of your love. I love you Father! I humbly give thanks and pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
