Field of Dreams - Day 2

Opening Prayer:

Dear Lord, here I am again, humbly asking for wisdom and strength. Show me faith in action. Help me understand.

Read: Hebrews 11:2-3 (NIV)

2 “This is what the ancients were commended for.

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”

Reflect:

The ancients in verse two are the elders who are commended for their faith. Verse three is a reminder that God created what we know (and see) out of what we do not know (and cannot see). Let’s begin at the beginning, shall we? There is one creator who created it all. All faith follows this truth.

Faith can be simply trusting God to do what he says. ”Faith is not irrational it is reasonable. It causes us to see into the place beyond what our eyes see and calls us to walk in that direction,” according to the NIV Student Bible.

So far this week, we have learned that faith is confident (v1), active (v2) and understanding (v3).

Apply:

Who in your life has trusted God and in this is a model to you?

Closing Prayer:

Dear God, help my unbelief and my doubt. Guide me in a life that can be commended for my faith. Unbelievers are watching. Are they curious about where my faith comes from? Make me steadfast.
