Restart - Day 4
I thank you today for your mercy in my life. Show me your ways through your Word today and help me to pursue only what is important to you.
Read: Philippians 3:12 - NIV
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”
We all know what it means to set goals. We set them for work, for our finances and even for our weight! It is always easy to set a new goal and be excited about the possibility of the result when we complete it. Unfortunately, when it gets tough the temptation is to give up and abandon them. In today’s passage, we are encouraged to not give up especially in the area that is the most critical in our lives--our faith walk with Christ. To know Christ better each day, and to experience the life that comes from resurrection power with the ultimate goal of seeing Christ in heaven, are the realities that focused the Apostle Paul’s life. Those were lifetime goals that pushed him to not give up but to know that the difficulty of this life is worth it. Our growing in Christ is a lifetime process. What needs to be in place in your life today that would re-energize your spiritual goals?
Write down what you need to recommit to in your relationship with Christ. What accountability do you need in your life so you don’t give up on those spiritual goals? What daily habits need to be in place so that you can accomplish your goals? Remember, don’t get discouraged. God will be there to give you strength and perseverance to accomplish what he has placed in your heart.
Lord forgive me for walking away from our relationship. I commit today to stay close to you and to finish your plans for my life. I love you. Amen
