Field of Dreams - Day 4

Opening Prayer:

Dear God, I am seeking you earnestly and want to please you. Help me to see how.

Read: Hebrews 11:6-7 (NIV)

6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.”

Reflect:

The world tells us it’s enough to just be “a good person” (whatever that is), but clearly God desires more. You must believe in him and he will reward you for earnestly seeking him.

Noah trusted God without seeing. He faced persecution and danger but stayed true to trust God. Unlike Abel, whose faith brought death, Noah’s faith brought life to his family and the earth’s animals.

Noah had a holy fear that prompted his faithful action. If you believe God will do what he says he’ll do, sometimes that will scare you. You do it any way.

Apply:
Would you build a modern-day ark?  What step of faith is God calling you to today?

Closing Prayer:

Dear God, give me Noah-like faith. I don’t want to walk in the ways of the world, which are contrary to being an heir to your righteousness. Because my faith can save my family, make me brave in the face of fear.
