The Unfinished Life Perseveres, Doesn’t Quit - Day 5
My dear God, thank you for yet another opportunity to come into your midst. I bow before you and praise your name. I open my arms, my heart, and my mind to your word. Breathe life into me Lord and let me be a witness to your greatness for all my days. I love you, Lord, and thank you for your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s in his mighty name I pray, Amen.
Read: Philippians 1:6 NIV
2 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
God didn’t stop part way when he created the universe. He didn’t leave the Garden of Eden incomplete. He didn’t get his people half-way out of Egypt. Jesus didn’t feed just a few people with 5 loaves and 2 fish. And, before he died on the cross, Jesus didn’t say, “It’s partly finished.”
No, God doesn’t do anything part way. He completes all that he begins – including me and you.
From the moment we were conceived, God started shaping us and preparing us to do his work. And once we accept Jesus into our hearts, the good work begins. That salvation breeds holiness, purity, and virtue…spiritual integrity. Yes, there will be bumps in the road. But, when we live with Biblical morality and reverence for our Lord, we can, and will, do great things to the Glory of God because God is the source. John 14:12 says that because of our belief, we will do the same works as Jesus, and even greater! That is pure God working through us, sanctifying us to the very end. Hallelujah!!!
Know and trust that the day you opened your heart to Jesus, you were given all the same authority to do great things, not just once or twice; but until the day of Christ Jesus. Allow your continued sanctification (becoming more like God) be demonstrated through your changed life in him. You belong to Christ. Let that be known.
Thank you, Lord, for not giving up or pulling up short. Thank you for not calling it quits on me. Give me the strength, courage, and humility to show the world who you are in my life. Let all the areas of my life be changed and seen. It’s all because of you, Lord. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you, God. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
