Leadership is serving others like Jesus – Day 5

Opening Prayer:

Heavenly Father I humbly bow my heart to you. Help me to continually grow in your love and follow your guidance and direction in my life Journey. Thank you that you are with me every step of the way.  Amen.

Read: John 13:17 (NIV)

“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

Reflect:

Jesus wants us as his followers to imitate him.  To be like him.  To love like him, just as he told the twelve on this occasion after he had washed the disciple’s feet. (15) He said “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.  (16) I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.”   Jesus, as our example, tells us to follow his teaching and we will be blessed when we carry out those actions of kindness and love toward others just as he had done serving the disciples.  Will you receive a blessing today by humbly serving?

Apply:

True leadership is not just knowing about serving, but actually humbly serving all those whom God may place in your life.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, thank you for showing me that to be your servant I must also humbly serve all whom you place in my life. Amen.
