Back to School: Get Enrolled - Day 5

Opening Prayer:

Dearest Lord, guide us by your Holy Spirit in all truth and knowledge.   Amen…

Read: Acts 4:12 (NIV)

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Reflect:

Have you ever been lost? Did you feel the panic of not knowing where you were?  When I went to Europe last month I was so concerned about getting lost that I made up note cards with the addresses of our hotels which I kept with me through-out the whole trip. No one wants to get lost.  In fact we have various map apps to help us make sure we don't.

It’s absurd to think you can you get to Oklahoma City driving on highway 70, or arrive in Kansas City driving down highway 25? It seems obvious that not all roads lead to the same place and it would appear ridiculous to think so.  The world has no doubt trusting in the directions of these maps to find their way.  However on their spiritual journey they believe that the same rules do not apply.  The enemy would like you to believe that all roads lead to God and no matter how long and hard we are told so, it just is not true.

Apply:

As Peter stated in Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”  Just like all journeys we take, it is important to know where we are going and how to get there.  Jesus is the only way, and he doesn’t just give us a map (the Bible) but he walks with us through his Holy Spirit.   Jesus said it best in John 14:6, "I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the father except through me."  This is one trip where we don’t want to get lost!

 Closing Prayer:

Dearest Lord, help us to stay on your path hence arriving home safe and sound in your hands.  Amen…
