Back to School: Sex Ed - Day 4

Opening Prayer:

Father, God, help us to listen to your voice as you guide us away from sin.

Read: I Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Reflect:

I have always wondered what this scripture meant!  Then one day, I realized he does provide a way out.  It is just sometimes we are blinded by the sin that we cannot see the path of light he is providing for us.  David was tempted by lust.  He was a King!  Adam and Eve had only one tree they could not eat of, out of the WHOLE Garden of Eden!  Abraham and Peter lied, and I believe most people today lie regularly especially if you are a teenager. Anger can be an easy temptation, Moses himself became angry.  God showed mercy to Solomon when he broke the first commandment!  Think about how God forgave Paul for persecuting the Christians and look at the great man he became.  Don’t let Satan tempt you, keep his word on your lips.

Apply:

I know of many people that pray the prayer that if their kids do something wrong, they pray they will be caught.  I have often prayed the prayer for God to show them the way out of a bad situation.  Pray that you will hear God’s voice when you are being tempted.  Also, pray that there will be an awesome role model for you and your children to follow.

Closing Prayer:

Thank you, Lord, for always providing a way out of a bad situation.  Help us to see your light shining on the path we should take.
